ANTHONY FERRARA
United States | Visual Artist
For more than 45 years, Anthony Ferrara has devoted his career to the art of transformation. As a colorist and stylist, his work has been guided by a deep understanding of color, form, individuality, and the subtle ways in which people express their identities.
Throughout his career, Ferrara became increasingly fascinated by the human experience, particularly the sense that many individuals move through life without feeling entirely present or fully connected to themselves. This observation became the foundation of his artistic exploration.
Through his body of work, This Is Me, Ferrara examines identity, presence, and the often-fragmented nature of the modern self. His figures appear suspended between emergence and completion, suggesting the parts of ourselves that remain hidden, evolving, or waiting to be discovered. His art invites viewers to look beyond appearances and contemplate what it truly means to be seen, understood, and whole.
Ferrara studied art and art history at Philadelphia College before pursuing cosmetology, where he continued to explore his creativity through color, form, and personal expression.
Now, as he transitions from a distinguished career in the beauty industry, Ferrara returns to his earliest artistic passion: fine art. This Is Me represents both a personal homecoming and a universal exploration of authenticity, self-discovery, and the ongoing journey toward wholeness.
