MARGARITA BAEZA
Margarita Baeza is a Chilean-born visual artist whose work moves between painting, drawing, illustration, and mixed media, exploring imagination, emotion, identity, femininity, nature, nostalgia, and the contrast between lightness and darkness.
Born in Santiago, Chile, in 2002, Baeza spent the first ten years of her life there before moving abroad. Growing up across different places and changing environments gave her an evolving perspective on culture, identity, and belonging. Throughout those transitions, art remained a constant—a space for curiosity, comfort, and self-expression.
Her practice developed through experimentation across mediums and styles. Drawn to expressive figures, symbolic imagery, fantasy, nature, bold linework, and emotionally charged narratives, her work ranges from vivid and playful to darker and more introspective. For Baeza, this contrast reflects the complexity of life itself.
At the heart of her work is the belief that art gives physical form to imagination. It allows something that exists only in the mind to become visible, tangible, and shared, transforming emotion, observation, and fantasy into a visual language.
Baeza graduated with honors in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and is currently expanding her creative practice through the study of fashion. Her work increasingly moves beyond the page and canvas into textiles, garments, form, and wearable design.
Rather than separating art, fashion, and design, Baeza sees them as interconnected forms of storytelling—different ways of transforming an idea into something visible, physical, and expressive.
