JUDY FLESCHER

Judy Flescher is an accomplished American abstract painter and collage artist whose work is distinguished by an imaginative use of materials, layered surfaces, color, and form. Her multidisciplinary practice includes acrylic and collage on canvas, paper, and copper, as well as monoprinting, watercolor, ink, oil stick, and photography. She frequently works beyond conventional formats, creating pieces on free-floating canvas, large door panels, and other unconventional surfaces.

Flescher studied at the Art Institute of Boston and earned her Bachelor of Arts and Teaching Certification in Fine Art from Framingham State College. She continued her studies at the Worcester Art Museum and DeCordova Museum of Fine Art, developing a practice grounded in experimentation and an ongoing exploration of mixed media.

Her artistic career spans several decades, with numerous solo, group, and juried exhibitions throughout Florida, Massachusetts, and New York. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including the Museum of Arts & Design in New York, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, Lighthouse ArtCenter Museum, Cornell Art Museum, and Florida CraftArt. Her work is also represented in public and private collections.

Throughout her career, Flescher has received numerous awards and distinctions, including Best of Show, First Place in Painting, Awards for Excellence, and recognition in juried exhibitions. She has also served as an invited juror and instructor, leading workshops in collage, encaustic, and mixed-media techniques. At the center of her practice is a continual curiosity about material and process—allowing texture, surface, and unexpected combinations to become an essential part of the work itself.
