DANIEL PICHNEY

Born in Queens, New York, Dan Pichney is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice has evolved through more than two decades of fine art photography into drawing, painting, and figurative work.

For 25 years, Dan worked as a fine art black-and-white photographer, studying advanced photography at Parsons School of Design in New York City. His photographic work received numerous awards in juried exhibitions and was recognized by The New York Times and other regional publications.

After turning his attention to drawing and painting in 2016, Dan continued developing his practice through formal study and live instruction with London-based portrait artist Alexander Newley. His work has since been selected for juried exhibitions throughout the United States, including the historic Salmagundi Club in New York City.

Dan’s artwork is held in the permanent collection of the Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation and has been exhibited at Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago, John H. Surovek Gallery in Palm Beach, and the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County.

Now based in South Florida, Dan continues to explore the human figure, portraiture, and contemporary life through a practice shaped by decades of observation behind the camera and an increasingly expressive approach to painting.
